My Identity Design Service is for small business owners who want an authentic, memorable and beautiful visual identity that resonates with their brand and audience.

 

My starter service includes:

  • My job as an identity designer isn’t just to create pretty logos for the sake of it! The identities I design are deeply rooted in strategy, and developing that strategy is the essential first step of my process. (To learn more about my process, scroll down to the FAQ section below 🙂)

    Once I finish my exploration into your business values, audience, competition, etc, I summarize my research into a Brand Strategy “report”. This document acts as a benchmark for the rest of the project, facilitating collaboration and helping with strategic decision-making.

    The scope of your Brand Strategy depends on factors like the size and age of your business. For example, if your business is brand new, you might not be ready for a very in-depth strategy. Or perhaps you're more established and already have a brand strategy? Don’t forget to include this information in my contact form when you inquire.

  • In your package, you'll receive a primary logo, along with a set of 2–3 responsive versions. These versions can vary in size, shape, colour and complexity to "respond" to many applications, giving you lots of flexibility when creating branded material. This will ensure that your brand will always be readable and recognizable!

  • Consistency in the use of colours and fonts is important to ensure your brand maintains its integrity and recognizability. Your visual identity package will include both a colour palette and font system.

  • Your Visual Identity Guide is an instruction manual that will help you properly use your brand logos, colours, fonts and other visual identity assets.

  • My basic package includes the design for 1 collateral item which can include a business card, letterhead, social media templates and more (let me know what you need!)

  • The short answer is yes!
    Building a solid brand and visual identity is usually a necessary first step, but I can do all kinds of additional work for my clients including web design, print and stationery design, social media graphics, packaging, font design and more.   • Yes! I would be happy to chat and answer any questions you may have regarding your branding and/or visual identity. Please contact me.

  • Step 1: Research. The first stage of my process involves getting to know your business, inside and out, so that I can develop an effective design strategy just for your brand. This includes a brand quesionnaire and deep dive into your business goals, audience, competition, ethos and more.

    Step 2: Strategy. Next, I summarize all of my research and develop an in-depth brand and design strategy that outlines your brand’s ethos, audience, competition, overall goals and visual mood board. This strategy is essential and acts as a benchmark for the rest of the design process.

    Step 3: Design. When I finally get to the creative part, I start by exploring various potential concepts and directions for your brand identity, eventually narrowing down on one idea, refining it as I go. This "one-concept method" allows me to develop and present a strong and coherent identity design.

    Step 4: Refine. After my initial concept presentation, my service includes two rounds of revision/refinement during which we'll discuss the design as well as any questions or feedback you might have. If necessary, I'll make any changes or improvements and then finalize your deliverables!

    Step 5: Roll out. Once your identity design is complete we can chat about any additional services or collateral you might need, like social media design, packaging, web design, file storage etc.

    Step 6: Wrap Up. Once your design assets have been approved and finalized, you’ll receive all of the files and pieces you need to start sharing your visual identity with the world!

  • Usually, when people think of branding they think of logos. But the truth is that your logo is just one very small part of your brand!

    Your brand is like a giant umbrella that covers everything that makes you you—from your product/service, reputation, tone of voice, visual identity and more.

    Your visual identity is the “look” of your brand. It’s a collection of all the pieces that represent your brand visually, including your logo, colours, fonts, pattern(s), image style etc.

  • Turnaround times vary depending on the scope of each project, but generally branding projects can take anywhere from 4– 8 weeks + to complete. Projects may also be split into phases (ie phase 1 brand and identity, phase 2 website). Client response times may also affect project turnaround time.

  • Each project is different in terms of scope, complexity, deliverables, budget and more, so I like to create an estimate once I have a grasp of your particular needs. Most of my clients invest between $2–$7k.

    It is important to note that this investment usually doesn't happen all at once. Most clients stick around long after the initial branding process is complete, coming to me for collateral and web design as they need it. We can start with the basics and go from there!

    Also, I am very open to payment plans. Most of the time, I split projects into four (4) payments over four (4) months—but that schedule can be extended or condensed depending on your project timeline and budgetary restrictions. Just let me know what you need!
